Your Guide to Seeing the Fireworks at Jones Beach on July 4th 2021

 

Last year the Jones Beach yearly fireworks show was canceled due to COVID19 concerns.  This year, however, they’re back and better than ever!  The fireworks show will not only be a celebration of American Democracy, but a celebration of NYC returning to its former glory and energetic hustle.

 

The beach, boardwalk, concessions, and parking facilities at Jones Beach are now fully reopened.  The Jovia Financial Credit Union Fireworks Spectacular will start at 9:30PM, with music broadcast simultaneously on both 97.5FM and 98.3FM.

Arrive early in the morning and enjoy the sunshine, a stroll along the water, and grab a snack and then settle in for the show! You can expect to pay a $10 to $20 parking fee through 4PM along with any other rental fees for chairs, etc, for anything else you may need.  You can access the “Real Time Parking Lot Capacity” map and assistant to gauge your arrival time the morning of.

 

Don’t want to spend the whole day at the beach?  Arrive no later than 3PM or 4PM to secure your next best viewing experience and leave plenty of time to park!  Traffic incoming to the Jones Beach Area will spike just prior to 6PM, so please allow plenty of time for holiday driving delays in your plans.  Please note, if lots are filled to capacity the NY State Police will divert incoming traffic away from Jones Beach; you may not park on the shoulder of the roadway.

 

When the show is over, be prepared to wait patiently for the departing queue of cars to exit the facility; the volume of attendees can mean up to a 2hr exit time depending how far you are from the park’s entrance areas.

Nassau Inter-County Express will be running buses every 30 minutes from 8:30AM through 8:30PM from the Freeport LIRR station, and hourly from the Hempstead Transit center.  Return trips will be available 30 minutes after the show concludes; rendezvous at the West Bathhouse for pickup.

 

If you live locally, you may also choose to travel by bike along the Cedar Creek County Path, which is about 5 miles and runs along the east side of the Wantagh State Parkway.  You can also walk right onto the beach if you live nearby.

 

Looking to avoid the main fracas?

No problem, you can view the fireworks from several other facilities and locations as well.

 

The fireworks will be visible from Wantagh Park and Cedar Creek with proof of Nassau County residence.  County residents with a “Leisure Pass” can also access the show from Nickerson Beach Park on Long Beach.

 

Additionally, limited tickets are also available to join the crew of the Island Princess Captree Fishing Boat from 6:45PM to 11PM.  You will need to arrive between 6PM and 6:15PM prior to departure.  The boat will not delay departure for any tardy arrivals for any reason, so please leave plenty of time for holiday traffic! BYO Snacks and Food, and dress in layers as the wind/water can be cooler than anticipated.  Bring your e-mailed ticket via your Smartphone, or print it out and bring the physical paper with you.  No promotional codes are accepted for this event; anyone who applies a promo code to an online purchase will need to pay that balance back before boarding!
