Sometimes we can get a little bit jaded about the place we call home, but a great way to resolve that is to get some fresh perspective.  That’s why today’s blog is devoted to exploring Long Island and the NY Metro Area from a new experience: Walking Tours!

We’re going to hit the pavement and explore the many little towns and villages, and take a little time to get reacquainted with the sights and sounds of our neighbourhood.  Walking Tours are a great way to take a slow stroll, enjoy the scenery, stop and smell the flowers, and get to know your neighbours.  So come and join us as we paint the town red!

Long Island Walking Tours offers amazing 2 hour guided tours of Long Island neighbourhoods.  You can select tours from Babylon, Bellport, Freeport’s Nautical Mile, Huntington, Lido Beach, Long Beach, Northport, Point Lookout, Port Jefferson, Sayville, and Riverhead!  You’ll learn about history, architecture, plenty of chances for photo ops, and so much more.  It’s a super fun way to connect with your friends and family as well as local businesses and history. Tickets are $20 per person, and the group donates half the proceeds to one of four charitable organizations: American Cancer Society, Cinema Arts Centre of Huntington, The Friendship Force of Long Island, or Long Island Cares.  And they’re of course open to suggestions, so feel free to suggest your favourite local non-profit and they’ll donate to them instead!

The Street Teacher aims to bring some fresh perspectives of the city even if you’ve lived there for ages, or travel there frequently for work or school.  With walking tours across the GWB, rides up to the Hudson River Valley, strolls along the Gold Coast of Long Island, and other excursions, you’ll explore a side of the city and state you've never seen before.  They even organize excursions outside the Metro area as far as Philly, Boston, DC, and even Buffalo and Niagra Falls upstate.  You’ll love the personal tailored tours and see this great city with new eyes!

Local Expeditions host some incredible local walking tours of Brooklyn and the surrounding area.  They aim to provide unique, intimate experiences of local restaurants, parks, businesses, and local arts.  Forget the humdrum tourist nonsense, this is a community-driven tour hosted by local guides who know the area’s best spots and most hidden gems.  They even run tours in New England if you like your local tour and want to keep exploring.

NYC Photo Journeys are an excellent outlet for the creative soul!  Take a tour of the city through the eyes of professional photographers and local guides, and capture the moment with professional photographs. It’s the perfect time to show off some of your pandemic wardrobe purchases by taking them out on the town.  You won’t even need to bother with selfie sticks and awkward angles, leave that to the pros!  The pro photographers will snap gorgeous photos of your friends and family as a keepsake, or you can even post them to your socials for some fresh new content.  You can even book a private tour for influencers if you’d prefer a more traditional photoshoot.  Best of all, the itineraries are fully customizable and unique, so you can tell them what you love most and where you’d like to explore!  It’s a great way to make new memories.
