Ditch Plains Beach is an iconic destination for surfing, and even if you’re not a seasoned pro you can sign up for a lesson from the local instructors and surf clubs. Arrive earlier in the day if you’d like to beat the crowds, because this family friendly beach gets pretty busy!
Gin Beach is great to do a little boat watching, fishing, or to bring little ones for a romp through the sand followed by a swim. It’s also great to take a stroll on the jetties and snap some photos of the sky and shoreline. And when summer is in full swing, you can grab a quick snack from one of the local food trucks that stop by.
Gosman’s Beach is on the smaller side, but it’s close by to plenty of local shops to explore and restaurants to grab a quick bite. It would make a great option for those who love to sit and read by the shore, but don’t necessarily want to participate in extensive watersports.
Kirk Park Beach is very picturesque and perhaps the quieter end of beach locations on Montauk. Known for its large, open beach with plenty of soft, white sand, this is the place to go if you’re looking for something less hectic.
