It’s National Frappe Day!
Although the word frappé is French in origin, meaning “iced,” the frappe drink we all know and love is a milkshake style a whipped iced coffee drink, generally made with instant coffee, water, sugar, and milk, and was created by Dimitris Vakondios, who worked as a Nescafe representative in Greece in the late 1950s. Frappuccino is the variant in which cappuccino or espresso is blended with ice and milkshake ingredients and topped with foamed milk, and is the beverage love child of the Milkeshake and a Frappe together.
There are lots of variations on the classic coffee shake, and we can’t get enough of it! That’s why we’re sharing our favourite local Long Island and NY Metro area restaurants to visit and grab a refreshing coffee treat.
