Did you know, the first immigrant to arrive in New York was Juan Rodriguez in 1613? He was born in Santo Domingo to a Portuguese Father and African Mother, and married a Native American woman. Additionally, he was the first person of both European and African descent to live in Manhattan; he was documented as the first non-indigenous individuals to live there!
